Hi there and welcome to my digital gallery!
Ever since I could wrap my hand around a pencil, a crayon or a brush, I have always had something in the making.
Painting, drawing and being creative has meant everything to me, especially when life has been hard and dark. Then the creative process has been all the more of an existential activity, and a way to work through all the storms and questions inside me.
The inner source
Except when I am doing my own studies of colour and form, I never paint from objects, landscapes or people. All the motifs I make are drawn from my inner source of sudden inspiration and imagination. A making that searches in the depths to discover what is inside me.
It often results in mysterious motifs, sometimes surrealistic and slightly a little frightening, with darker themes such as hopelessness and sorrow. But something that is always there somewhere, more or less hidden in the motifs, is HOPE! The force that not even the darkest darkness can put out. The force that gives a reminder that everything bad passes!
A craft
For five years now I have painted in oil, after many years with watercolour and acrylic. I paint on canvas and also on MDF boards (Medium Density Fibreboard). Working on one painting for a long time is usually my way of working, apart from drawings and spontaneous works. To sculpt a surface into being through several layers, scraping away and piling on. It becomes an image created by the human factor! A craft.

I am also working right now on illustrating my interpretation of legends and tales, something you can read more about further down (the Project room)!
